Softscapes: Softscapes usually refer to services and installations involving plant and other organic materials. These often include annuals, shrubs, grass, trees, and soil.

Hardscapes: Materials such as natural stone, pavers, are referred to as hardscapes. The materials used in hardscapes are often used for stonework projects such as retaining walls, steps, walkways, patios, fire pits, and concrete work.
